Gift

I am a true believer that we are all placed here on this earth with a unique gift from God.

It was not until five years ago, that I took true notice of my “Gift of Cooking.”  I knew I loved cooking and interacting with my clients, however, I never really understood the Realm of this unique gift God had placed over my life, until one particular day when I prepared a grilled chicken breast for a client.

“Chef, what did you do to this chicken!” exclaimed my client.

I thought for a moment… “Nothing much.” All I did was season it, pan sear it for color on both sides, then placed it on a baking sheet and finished it in the oven until it reached the correct temperature of 165F and holding. And in the exact moment I suddenly took full notice that God had placed a special and unique gift over my life. To someone else those quick few steps would be unachievable, but for me, the task was completed with ease and compassion.

As I became more comfortable in accepting and practicing my gift, I began to take full responsibility for the Gift.

One, I knew I had to nurture the Gift.

Two, I had to respect the Gift.

Three, I knew the blessing of the Gift didn’t belong to me, therefore, I must share the Gift.

I have been sharing this gift ever since that revelation hit me. Over the last 10 years I have shared this gift not only just in cooking, but also in teaching. I often, tell people that as long as you dream, those dreams of impossibilities will lead you to a world of unforeseen possibilities. I am forever grateful to those individuals that played a major role in allowing me to take note of my God given gift of cooking.

Always remember…dreams do come true.
